PayPerPost and LoudLaunch Require Full Disclosure
Two services which allow bloggers to be paid by advertisers for posting about products, PayPerPost and LoudLaunch, both announced recently that bloggers will be required to have full disclosure for paid posts. This follows an opinion issues by the FTC last week that they will look into deceptive word of mouth marketing campaigns on a case by case basis.
LoudLaunch also announced recently that they are beginning to accept applications from both bloggers and advertisers and the service will be launched on December 26.
A third get-paid-to-blog service, ReviewMe launched last month and has required full disclosure from the beginning.

Nice post here. A bit of a correction though. LoudLaunch (which officially launches next week) was set to require full discloure from day 1. Our decision had nothing to do with the FTC rumblings — it was simply how we wanted to do business from the get-go.

I was doing a pr launch for my Playstation 3 giveaway and decided to try loudlaunch. While I got a few quality posts, I also found an anti-semitic hate site (one that called for the destruction of Israel) posting about my release.

Thanks for bringing that up, Brian. That seems incredible to me. I can’t believe LoudLaunch doesn’t let you pick the blogs you advertise on. By putting the post on random blogs, it greatly decreases the value of the reviews. The audience won’t be interested, and there are no topical links gained in the search engines eyes.

Glad to help. Overall though I was happy with the posts but they are far too random to effective. I made the point to Phil that I would pay a lot more for the right post at the right blog. It’s much more effective that way.
